Tour itinerary

Day 1

8:30 - 9:30 a.m. : Pick up from hotel or guesthouse by pick up truck.

We will leave Chiang Mai on highway 108 past the airport to Sanphathong, an about 40 min. drive. We will make a stop at a local market. The guide will buy the food for the trek and you have time to buy some things you might need on the trek.

After an about 30 min. drive to the Mae Wang waterfalls at the Doi Inthanon National Park. Here we will make the mid-day break and and have lunch. You can swim there if you like.

After the break we will start walking. For about 3 hours the guide will lead you through a wonderful evergreen jungle landscape, through bamboo forests, lianas, rhododendrons and lots of other vegetation. Also there are lots of beautiful birds.

The walk will lead us to a Hmong hilltribe village with a nearby waterfall, where we will stay over night.

Day 2

After breakfast we will walk to the "Mae Wang" stream. From there a pick up truck will bring us to Mae Mud village, a village of the Shan tribe (Tai Yai). There we will have lunch.

After lunch we will go bamboo rafting on the Mae Wang Stream. The rafts are made of bamboo stems fit together with ropes.

Then will make an adventurous elephant ride through the jungle. After the elephant ride we will drive back to Chiang Mai where we will arrive at about 17:00 h.
